Financing that even covers furnishings and fixed rates for up to eight years: these are the conditions with which BCR arrives at Expoconstrucción 2026.
Lab de Ideas with the support of Hogares de Costa Rica – Hogares de Costa Rica is the national company that built the country’s first condominium. It also developed the first shopping center and managed the first Costa Rican trust.
Today, with 50 years of experience, the company is focusing its efforts on Condominio Marea, a development made up of six buildings in the southern sector of Jacó, Puntarenas. Construction is set to begin next October, with completion scheduled for late 2027.
According to Federico Escobar, Project Director at Hogares de Costa Rica, Marea was created in response to the clear interest Costa Ricans have in Jacó as a vacation destination:
“Its proximity to the Greater Metropolitan Area and the wide range of activities and natural surroundings make this area attractive to different types of buyers,” he said.
According to Escobar, Marea’s objective is to offer these families a vacation and leisure space, especially those from the country’s central region who want to own a second home, with the added possibility of renting it out seasonally if they choose.
“We build and work for Costa Ricans. I don’t deny that we sell to foreigners, but our primary market is national; our products are designed for locals, and our pricing reflects that.”
The Apartments
At Condominio Marea, units will be available in one- or two-bedroom configurations, as well as two-bedroom lock-off models.
Each apartment will include covered parking, a living room, dining area, integrated kitchen, and balcony. Depending on the model, master bedrooms will also feature walk-in closets and private bathrooms.
Among the amenities are a skate park, a paddle tennis court, and fire pit areas. Each of the six buildings will also have a shared rooftop space—known as sky decks—designed for social gatherings and celebrations, in addition to walking trails, playgrounds, and electric vehicle charging stations.
The project will only build on 50% of the available land; the remaining area, according to Escobar, “will remain green.”
